STEP 3: What have I learnt?
Evaluator should write down the reply and then can see an explanation in the Pull-Down Menu!
1. What are the advantages of the modularisation of the curriculum?
Explanation: Modularisation makes it possible to be more attuned to refugees’ existing abilities and experiences, which, in turn, might shorten the duration of their education and allow them to enter the labour market more quickly while not undermining the quality of the training.
By this point modular curriculum can be helpful, so that already existing competences in form of certificates can be counted. Especially with trainings for refugees, a clear added value can be achieved, if the curriculum is designed more flexible. Furthermore the European and national strategies and measures at the system level could change rapidly. Training providers need to react flexibly to these political decisions.
2. Why it is important to oversight the learning goals and content?
Explanation: In fact a clear oversight of the learning goals and content is one of the key items to reach a successful integration and implementation of vocational training programs. It is evident that procedures which are used for regular students might not be appropriate for the vocational education of refugees. It should be taken into account that there are other aspects to be focused such as the contents, the time schedule or methodical and didactical regulations. Another important point is that the learning goals and content should be decided in accordance to frame conditions which are present in refugee groups. Such as high fluctuation rates, high heterogeneity and also incriminatory living environments.
