STEP 1: Why is it important?

The following video gives theoretical background about different types of curricula and highligts the importance of setting learning goals in vocational programmes for refugees. Using the example of two schools with different curricula, the advantages of flexible curricula in working with refugees are particularly underlined.

 

Main Goals:

  • Successful integration of programs through oversight of learning goals and content
  • Adaptation of the content to the needs of the target group of refugees  
  • Concideration of the prior formal knowledge of refugees  
  • Concideration of the prior informal knowledge of the refugees 
  • Consideration of the working experience of the refugees
  • All stakeholders (school principals, teachers, project managers, and representatives of specific companies in the sector) are involved
  • Quick adaptation of the vocational education practices to the changes in the goverment policies and social environment
