STEP 1: Why is it important?
Main Goals:
- If no support is given, the settling and schooling and furthermore the social and economic development of new citizens is compromised.
- Educating institutions play an important role in building access and participation in the society, and in alleviating resettlement issues – learning, general well-being and welfare are always linked in this context
- Topics that have to be tended to in order to enable proper learning can include social, psychological, linguistic and legal (residency) issues, problems in terms of housing and in terms of finances of the refugee.
- The VET provider should not be responsible for solving problems related to other dimensions of integration, but must be prepared to assist the refugee students by informing and activating other authorities and resource persons.
